Take Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), the written Arabic language used all over Arab countries. It is derived from Classic Arabic, which is the language of the Holy Quran. MSA or 'Fus'ha' is used in academia and formal media such as newspapers. This means that as students progress, they can follow Middle Eastern current affairs and read Arabic literature and Islamic texts.
This course focuses on Listening, Speaking, Pronunciation, Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, and Grammar and on fun activities.
IH Cairo uses in-house teaching materials and textbooks to facilitate learning. We use the Al-Kitaab Book Series published by Georgetown University Press, which is commercially available. We have also developed supplementary educational resources to enhance the learning experience and complement our textbook series.
Each MSA level is 60 Hours. Students can book a 2-week course, equivalent to half a level.
The MSA Course runs from Sunday to Thursday, 3 hours per session.
